While wedding planning recently, I noticed that it was super time consuming to find places within Asia for possible venues. I knew I wanted to plan it myself and I knew from experience that Air Bnb has some fantastic finds. So I started with a basic Air Bnb search and quickly found that there were options out there for sure, but my… it was a lot of work. So now that I’ve done the research and made a decision, I want to share the fruit of my labor for all those other brides out there looking to get married in Asia. You’re welcome!

Siem Reap, Cambodia

One of the most important things to consider when planning a destination should go without saying…the destination. And they don’t get much cooler than Siem Reap with it’s rich archeological finds. If you want to wow your guests with the activities, culture and experience, look no further. Villa Asaliah is just 20 mins away from Angkor Wat. They can also arrange tours for you such as the Flight of the Gibbon, cooking classes, Phare, the Cambodian Circus, and even Khmer ceramics classes.The villa can sleep 17 people but can accommodate a 40 person wedding, making this the perfect place for an intimate ceremony with cultural flare.

Ok, I may be a bit biased since this is the venue I actually selected for my wedding, but I think this place is one of a kind. In addition to its convenient location near Ubud’s Sacred Monkey Forest, the villa also benefits a cause. Proceeds from the villa go to ensure HIV treatment and screening access to communities across Bali. It boasts 11 rooms, 7 ponds, 4 meditation pavilions, 3 swimming pools, 2 Yoga-Shalas and has a river flowing through the property. It also gives the guests a sense of privacy as all villas are free standing. Last but certainly not least, the booking and ease of selecting a vision for a wedding couldn’t be easier. Their website has lots of pictures of other weddings held on their property so you can envision your big day in boho chic style. I was able to book everything and arrange wedding details with just a few email exchanges.

Hacienda Bali is located on Bali’s southwest coast not far from the airport, nightlife and loads of other villas to accommodate extra guests. The property itself is comprised of 5 individual villas with a total of 14 bedrooms. It has a beautiful courtyard, restaurant and bar, and entertainment area that can accommodate up to 60 comfortably. Just looking at this space you can imagine so many different configurations for your wedding or reception, with the open air concept that Bali is famous for. Hacienda Bali also handles all catering needs for your wedding, making this a one-stop shop planning wise.

The Tala Ramba Reef is also located in Sri Lanka and can host a wedding of up to 100 people. You can get married on the beach with Sri Lankan entertainment to get the party started. Guest are required to stay a minimum of 5 nights with the wedding in the middle, but with such stunning grounds 5 days may not be enough. Note though that the cost of the venue is an additional one night’s rent. The property is staffed to meet all of your needs, but does require that you hire a wedding planner to sort out all details and provides a list of local experts to help you coordinate everything. Its grounds are beautiful and just one look at their website will give you serious wedding inspiration.

If you are looking for a bigger venue within Thailand, this is the place for you. Within three villas the estate can sleep 40 and accommodate a wedding ceremony and reception for 150 guests. They have many small hotels within easy walking distance should you prefer to have guests housed offsite. They charge $1200USD++ for hosting the event and have a dedicated wedding planner available for hire as well. Don’t forget to check out their bridal package which includes breakfast in bed, champagne, rose petal bath, and manicure and pedicure.
